DEATH MOTEL POSTCARD-- This is one of two postcards I made to hand out at various places to help advertise my current webcomic, Behind the Blue Door. The idea being that the postcards were commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce of Noxville, the fantasy town in the strip, to advertise some of the businesses where some of the action takes place.

DINER POSTCARD-- This is the second postcard for the series described above. I'm hoping to do more of these if I get the time.

CHIBI ANNE OF GREEN GABLES-- I guess this is "fan art", though I've never actually read any of the books or anything. Inked from my sketchbook with a brush, coloured on the computer, Photoshop I guess.

THE SWARM-- I guess this is fan art too! So you know that movie, "The Swarm"? The one with the dream sequence where the lady opens her front door and BUZZ BUZZ IT'S A GIANT BEE? The movie is awful but that's an awesome scene.

STONER BUGS-- Yeah, real mature. Typical stoner humour-- famous cartoon character smoking up. This was done for the cover of a zine that hasn't come out yet.

CHIVAS-- This is a character sketch for yet another proposal that didn't go anywhere, this time for a proposed animated re-working (and major re-tooling) of my comic series Square City. This was a fairly major overhauling of the main character.

HEIGHT CHART-- This is a chart of all the main characters for the animated re-tooling I described above. Despite the fact that this didn't go anywhere, it was fun to rework my story into a totally different context, and adjust the drawing style accordingly. I actually really like the style I sort of developed in these sketches.

PARENTS-RETRO-- Two of the characters from the proposal mentioned above; the attempt was made to bring to mind 50s clip art for these characters.

CHIBI PARENTs-- Another attempt at a pseudo-50s clipart style for these characters. I really had fun with this and I'm pretty happy with the lines I got.

Mister Kitty's Oktoberfest-- As seen on our Found Sound page throughout October 2007!

MOXIE AND TANNER-- This is another early ComicWorks sketch, though I actually drew these two Square City characters and inked it on paper (with brush and India ink), then scanned it in and added all the tones, blacks and highlights with CW. This was mainly an experiment for various types of computer tones but I kinda like it.

MODEL SHEET 1-- These are character sheets for a couple of characters for a new comic idea I've been working on. Whether I actually decide to do this comic or not is kinda up in the air right now, but I like the looks of these characters. This was inked on paper and toned in ComicWorks.

MODEL SHEET 2-- This is the main character and her best friend, from the aforementioned comic idea I'm working on. Again, inked on paper and toned in CW.

MODEL SHEET 3-- This is a character sheet for a completely different idea I was working on; other drawings of this character are further down in this art gallery. This story is even further down the road for me, but the style is kind of fun. This was done entirely on paper, toned with markers.

HARDY -- This is Hardy, one of the characters in "Square City", dressed for reasons I can't recall in the dandyish attire of a 60s mod lad.

I {HEART} ANGELS -- This is a design I made for t-shirt and totebags, as part of my "pandering to the masses" series. If you are particularly sharp, you can catch the advertising "homage" in this drawing.

ELF GIRL -- Another t-shirt/tote bag design. This one is particularly popular for some reason.

ELF BOY -- Another one for the t-shirts. Any resemblance to elves living or dead is purely coincidental. Christ, his legs are long.

I LIVE ON A PIRATE SHIP -- And another one for the t-shirts and totebags. I don't think he's gay enough, though.

DRAMA QUEEN -- Well, you know. Some people just like to carry on. This then, is their totem. Inked with a brush and India ink, coloured in marker.

BRIGID -- Drawn in my sketchbook, this is the main character from a new comic I'm working on.

holly

HOLLY -- Drawn in my sketchbook, inked with a brush and Pantone gray markers. This is the main character from my piece in JUKU (AVAILABLE AT AMAZON.COM), "Holly's Father".

Moxie

MY FIRST PHOTOSHOP BY FISHER PRICE -- Drawn on animation paper, sketched really, then coloured in Photoshop-- as the title suggests, this is the very first drawing I ever finished in Photoshop, lo these many years ago, back when I was working at an animation studio and got to use their computers during down time. I tried to preserve the rough sketchiness of the pencil lines but having no previous experience with that sort of thing didn't really succeed. Never the less, I think this drawing holds up pretty good, and it was used on the main page of my old website.

ad sketch

TASCHEN SKETCH -- Drawn in my sketchbook, another one inspired by the Taschen collections of old advertisements. Can you guess what this ad was for? Huh? Huh?

fiat600

FIAT 600 -- Drawn in my sketchbook, from an ad for the Fiat 600. No, just kidding, it's an ad for men's trusses.

mermaid

MERMAID SKETCH -- Drawn in my sketchbook, this is a quickie I did with coloured pencils. I was wanting to try something a little different, and I saw this Tiffany ad in one of those Taschen books I'm always raving about on my LiveJournal. I think it turned out kind of cool.

dwinghy in pants

DWINGHY IN PANTS -- Drawn in my sketchbook, inked with a brush, toned with Pantone gray markers. This is Dwinghy, the all-purpose corporate mascot, wearing a pair of baggy 30s style men's pants even though he is a cartoon cat and therefore has nothing to cover. I like the way he's got them hiked up though.

latenite TV

LATE NIGHT T.V. DOODLES -- Drawn in my sketchbook while up way too late watching Cartoon Network. I think Fred has been hypnotized.

pretty police

THE PRETTY POLICE -- Drawn in my sketchbook, inked with a Japanese G pen. These are those hard lovin' lovely detectives Sutasukii and Hatchi, characters from a parody strip I did that was printed in the "LUCKY DOG" zine. Any resemblance to TV detectives living or dead are purely yadda yadda yadda.

retrokids

RETRO-STYLE KIDS -- Drawn in my sketchbook, these are two unnamed characters I drew in an old-skool 60s anime style reminicent of Ishinomori or something. I can't even remember why I drew these kids, I think I had some story idea that seemed good at the time but has since left my brain completely. These things happen.

biker girl

PHILOSOPHY BIKER GIRL -- Drawn in my sketchbook, I never got around to inking this. The idea was she's wearing motorcycle racing gear but instead of corporate logos plastering it there's all these vague and opposing emotional and mental states and oh hell, I just couldn't be bothered to find a reference for the motorcycle.

goofy gus

GABBY -- Drawn in my sketchbook, a few quick renderings of one of my kitties. Unfortunately she noticed I was drawing her so she made a point of moving every few moments.

boxing

OLD SKOOL PUGILISM -- Drawn in my sketchbook, eventually I'll ink and likely colour this. Tanner from "Square City" again, for no reason dressed like a boxer.
